I'm swapping a 4L80E deep pan for a stock pan to gain ground clearance, and it appears the stock pan touches the bottom of the filter assembly.
Is it supposed to do touch the filter assembly?
I'm trying to figure out if that is intentional, or if perhaps the trans shop that rebuilt my trans, used a longer pickup tube or different filter assembly, to compensate for the deep pan they installed. In that case, I may need to shorten the pickup tube, or use a different filter assembly.
The pan I bought, AC Delco 24204278, has a depth of 2.8", which is not exactly what I was expecting of 2.9", for my 1999 4L80E.
I wish my trans shop had saved my original stock pan like I asked, because finding and reverting back to a stock pan, has been a lot more pain in the a$$ than I expected.
