I see transmission pan magnets for sale, to attract and hold metal particles.
On the surface, it sounds like using them is a good idea.
However, is it possible for the magnetic fields they emit, to interfere with the electronics or mechanical functions of a late model transmission like a 4L60E or 4L80E?
If they are OK to use, do they have to be epoxied or otherwise attached to the pan, or will a powerful enough magnet (say a rare earth magnet) simply stay put, when used with a steel pan?
Rare earth magnets are powerful enough, where I imagine they could be placed on the outside of the pan, and still possibly be effective.
