I'm running a Holly Projection 4i for the time being until I go to multiport. Modified my 2nd gen tank to fit the LS1 in tank fuel pump and bucket.
Questions:
1) is the LS1 fuel pressure regulator in the bucket unit on the return line?

1b) Assuming the regulator is in the unit, what psi is it set at? can it be reduced?

2) is the pump always on or does it shut off at high pressure and resume when pressure drops?

3) the holley unit uses 14 psi and has a built in regulator. Will this mess up the LS1 unit or can I remove the regulator (if in fact the regulator is where I think it is in the in tank unit)?

I'm not sure where the regulator is, since GM used a couple difference designs, but typically the regulator was on the fuel rails, so there is no regulator at the pump.
The pumps are always on .
Does the Holley unit have a return line from the regulator? If so you don't have to worry about the pump, or an in-tank regulator, if there is one. The LS1 pump will be pushing a lot more volume than you need, but it won't hurt it.

The Holley has a return line. Although the pump will supply more than needed, Holley's Tech stated that it would not hurt the diamphram in the regulator. We'll see. Its not so much teh volume I'm worried about as a 474 poncho engine will consume more fuel than an LS1 engine, but the pressure since I believe the LS1 pressure is 63psi.

Your thoughs are on par with mine about ignoring the LS1 unit regulator, if in fact there is one there.
