When is Circuit City closing its doors? I'm waiting for the sales to begin.

The sales are on now, as far as I know. The began at the beginning of the year. I think stuff around here is on sale from 30% to 50% off.

For S&Gs I went to the one by me last night. Wiped clean.

I went to one by me yesterday and although a good bit was gone, they still had a bunch left. I found that even with 30-50%, you can find the same items cheaper elsewhere. waiting for the 60-80% sale.

I did find printer ink jet cartridges, but they were no bargain.

On the news earlier this year they were showing how another company actually buys all of CCs inventory and marks it up before the going out of business sale. Sad, but it probably tricks a lot of people.

Bought a Garmin Nuvi 255w GPS two weeks ago. Paid $150. Best price on Amazon was $193. Selection was getting low.

Call me an idiot. It definitely tricked me. I was in the market for new home theater speakers a few weeks ago. Found a set of Polk's on "clearance" for $869 that were "marked down" from $1299. The tag and the receipt both said "clearance priced, no refunds or exchanges", but at that price, I thought I was getting a bargain.

I install the speakers and a few days go by with me being unimpressed with the speakers, so I google the model #'s. Amazon had the EXACT set of speakers, brand-new, for $549.

:machine:Circuit City.

I talked my dad out of buying a new 42" LCD TV there... he went to best buy across the street and got one with a warranty that can be returned for.... $100 less than circuit's best one!!

I bought a brand new kicker 12" subwoofer for my blazer, and a nice pair of pioneer 6X9's for $100 total... not bad at all, and they are in perfect working order, security tape on the boxes was intact. For $100 I'll risk it, but with a big TV, I-don't-think-so! lol........

Look at it this way, you can say you will NEVER do business with Circuit City again since it will be easy to keep your promise to yourself!!

I'm sure the stuff is still warrantied, it just won't be as easy as walking into CC.

There was a thing on yahoo news where people were buying stuff (they weren't allowed to open the packages in the store) that was broken (one example wasa $1500 TV set with a broken screen) and not allowed to return them.

yeah but you have to deal with the manufacturer and they don't cover any physical damage... that means if its broken coming out of the box, you're F***ED. Besides, best buy had better prices lol.....
