Anyone watch/like this show? I watch House a lot, and recently I've taken to watching some NCIS, so I see commercials for Burn Notice all the time (which is on the same station) and I've caught a few episodes at a friend's house. Apparently it's a very popular show.
I really don't care for it. I absolutely can't stand listening to the main character narrating parts of it. I'm also not a big Bruce Campbell fan although I understand he has a cult following.
I also don't get the chick on the show, Fionna, who is apparently into weapons and is a bomb/fire expert.
Not that the character isn't interesting, but there's a trend going on that I don't understand.
The actress (whose name I don't know or care) is very good looking, but she's also very obviously older, and has horrible skin.
It puts me in mind that other shows that I see advertised like "The Closer" and "Cold Case" and "Law and Order" all have older herione's that are being billed as "hot" and have become apparently popular shows.
Not that I care, but why is it all the sudden older women are the new thing on t.v.?

Because they know what they are doing in the sack.
And they are not spoiled like the young ones.

How is that relevant? Older than 25.

well, since you are complaining (and don't care at the same time) about older women being touted as "hot" we probably want a frame of reference. As I get into my late 30's I can appreciate "cougars" over "jailbait". Very good looking, but with horrible skin??

I don't really care, because I consider all those shows I listed to be crap, so it doesn't bother me because I don't watch them. But the trend isn't something I see as a positive either.

She's got a nice face and she isn't fat at all, so I can see the appeal, but her skin is horrible. Have you even seen the show or just looked at pictures on the net? Her skin has this blotchy I spent too much time in the sun, or am possibly a burn victim texture to it:

She could also make for one of those anorexia posters if not for that six pack. A chick with a six pack? Not my idea of sexy.
And there's a reason 40 year olds long to date 25 year olds. Wrinkles, laugh lines, and sagging are not sexy.

In your own flippant way, you made a pretty big point. This is all my opinion. But I'd rather watch a younger, hot woman with zero wrinkles and nice curves than an older woman with laugh lines that reminds me how old I am.
And really, the main point of my post was to see if I was the only one that hates this show.
I have to admit my primary predjudice is the main male actor (whose name I am not aware of, nor do I care). Almost everything about him bugs me, but what irritates me the most is his narrating.

So what determines if she's a cougar? Over thirty? Cause I don't really think of early thirties as "cougar age". Maybe 36+? And where did the term cougar come from? I thought MILF was the term to describe "mature" women? It's all so confusing.

I think a cougar is an older woman (at least 40) who preys on younger men.
and I love Burn Notice. :)

Cougars, I'm a professional cougar hunt, cought a few and I'm young(23)! Nothing wrong with older women they are way better than this young pita's! But I'll take them all. Haven't seen the show but might have to watch now. Cougar is 30's to 40's that like younger men, a milf is (mother i'd like to fornicate). Cougarsorus is 50's and above, gotta watch out for some of those when your drunk and friends need a laugh.
