Ok, after reading and searching an infinite amount of articles on this forum about rear and front pro touring modifications I am overwhelmed but really confused. I have always been a drag racer and this 1972 nova was going to be just that until my passion has changed to build a good handling classic. I am not going to road course the car but want to have that great corning at moderate to high speeds.
The first thing I want to get some opinions on from other nova owners is the front sub frame. I was going to use a drop in front suspension but now, after reading some posts here the best thing would be to use my stock sub frame and modify it. I am looking for what kits such as SC&C stage 2 or something compatible. I would like suspension gurus to help me on this matter. I know that this subject has been gone over on this forum many times over but there is so much conflicting data I do not know were too start and how to get this to work the way I would like the first time out of the gate! Please don’t tell me to do a search because I have and this is why I am asking these questions.
The second is the rear suspension and whether to keep the leaf setup or put in something like a dse that seems to have great track record on these forums. Here is another area in pro touring that I after reading many articles am undecided on. I was going to use an air setup but with some posts here that might not be what IO am looking for. So I would like again some opinions on this subject from other nova owners that have experienced this build on there cars. I know that the technology has produced some great rear leaf progressive setups and would like some opinions on this setup also, as I used to run some single leafs in drag racing with the help of the late Dempsey that were in the low nine seconds, so there must be some guys running some high tech spring setups.
I ask these questions as after being tied up the last year finally got my car to topstone to get the soda blast done. I would like the body and suspension done before spring turkey season.

X2 on calling Mark. I'm running his Stage II+ kit up front on our Nova project and it's a great setup for the money. Also, keep in mind that almost anything you can do to a first generation F-body can be done to a Nova since they are very similar chassis.

Fellow Nova owner here - I put a Hotchkis TVS kit on my car with Speed Tech control arms and Bilstein shocks. The installation went very smooth.

The car isn't on the road yet (oh so close), so I cannot speak to how well the combination works. Just wanted to comment about ease of installation.

Re-using your stock front clip will save big $$, and it is the same clip as the 67-69 Camaro.

Please review the attached data sheet and contact one of our Pro-Touring Chassisworks dealers with any questions. The system we offer is extremely complete and offers upgraded suspension geometry beyond anything you can accomplish with a stock sub-frame.

SC&C will be glad to speak to you aboiut our line, if your going to call him on other systems anyway.
