Hi,

I'm running a Pro-Flo 3500 and removed the Throttle Body for cleaning with a can of Throttle Body Cleaner. I got all the black stuff cleaned up, so I figured I'd remove the IAC to see how the inside looked. It also has black stuff in it, so can I spray the Throttle Body Cleaner directly into the IAC or is there a better process?

Do you recommend removing the electrical portion in order to remove the sliding rod for a better cleaning job? If that is benificial is there anything I need to know about the reassembly process of the sliding rod or does it just slide into place?

Thanks, John

dont take it apart, just unbolt it from the TB and use a bit of carb spray, maybe a small brush and a blow gun to dry it off after wards. That is all it needs to work properly.

get some throttle body cleaner from Ford dealer, softens up the carbon and if you sit it in a small cup with just enough to cover pintle it literally wipes off if not melts off. Just dont soak the solenoid body in it, little running ito it on pintle side is ok

I actually cleaned it by spraying some Brakeleen on a rag and wiped it out pretty good. Unfortunately it takes some time to get everything cleaned that way but I think I got most of the carbon cleaned out. John
