If I purchased a wrecked ls1 camaro, would it be possible to swap out the engine and including the air conditioning unit to a 68 camaro? Has anyone done this? I know you can swap the engine. I was curious about the a/c. Thanks

It's been done a lot, search a bit.

To leave the AC comp in the stock 4th gen location you have to notch the frame.

Are you referring to the evaporator and main box that sits behind the dash? If so, it may not be very easy. There's a 73 Trans Am that used the fourth gen AC unit and it required heavy modifications to the firewall to make it fight. Yes, the 73 is different than the 68 but I'm betting it's not that different.

That's the answer I needed. Not looking to do heavy mods for an A/C. Looks like Vintage Air for me!!! Thanks
