I know there are so many chinesium brakes out there. I here that even many of the once great brands are just the same Chinese junk with the good name. I'm hoping to still find the right deal on a good "old" brake but if I end up with a new one who still makes a nice good quality for the price 48" 12-14ga box and pan brake?

I had a tennsmith HBU48-12 for years. Loved it, heavy duty. But, sold after it was no longer needed. JR

Good luck finding one for less than a grand. I've been looking for used ones and haven't had any luck.

Maybe contact your local tinners and see if they know anyone? Beyond that I have no idea. I watch Ebay and craiglist. Never seen one ever on craigslist in my city, and the ones on Ebay are usually a grand or more, or in very poor shape, or not close to me.

I am expecting at least a grand but hopfully not more than $1500.00.

I missed a 10 year old National in the last week for $1000.00 I have been trying to get ahold of the guy and did today finally. I had already told the wife were making a road trip to Atlanta GA to pick it up this weekend.

Richard, you should be able to get it shipped to you well under $200 bucks, maybe under $150. As long as the guy can get it on a pallet. A road trip may be worth it to check it out in person, however. Sounds like you are starting to get quite the assortment of equipment. English wheel next?

Best quote I got was $400.00 since it weighed 1900lbs and spending that kind of money I would rather see it in person and be out 250.00 in gas than finding out I spent $1400.00 on scrap iron.

No english wheel ...yet :D
Been collecting and storing equipment for a while now. The plan was to be able to have the right tools for my own cars and make a little extra $$ here and there on other peoples. With the way things are going I will have the equpment to build armored battle wagons when the **** hits the fan and everything goes all MAD MAX. :machine:

Don't want to hijack this guy's thread, but just got my new Summit Catalog... Woodward fab? Is this junk equipment?

They advertise a 16ga box and pan for $500. 48"
