Does anyone have any info on this car? I've only ever seen this one article on it. It's got a 525ci Donovan aluminum big block in it with over 600hp. At the time that the article was written (which was several years ago) the car was owned by Peter Castellana.

Yep, I remember the article. That's one bad motha. Some rich Porsche tuner probably bought the car and burned it.

Ive been trying to figure out how to post that article for awhile, Im so brutal with computers.....I couldn't find it in the HR archives.

haha I stole the issue out of a waiting room at a muffler shop about 3 yrs ago and read it at home over and over.....that article/car put the fire back in me about wanting to build my car after years on the back burner.

I grew up 15min from Mosport Park and spent many many weekends in the last 25 yrs at the track watching road races.......that car illustrates something Ive always knew......that those exotics are not all that.....like, the thing still has stock frame rails and a basically stock rear suspension and makes great but not tremendous Cup/Busch Sb2 over 720hp power.

awesome car

Is that January 2005 ?

Oops, nevermind , I zoomed in.
Now I know which back issue to dig out ...

Thanks ...

It would be nice to know what happened to it since 2005 , huh ??

heres some pics from the article

Is that thing lifting the front wheel because the frame is twisting? Wow, that's wild, it looks like the tire is 3 or 4 inches off the ground! Thanks for posting that shorttrack.

He's coming through a corner very hard and he's compressing the rear suspension on the opposite corner of the car.
The front is so stiff , it's lifting that front corner.

Or , ...... It could be torque twisting the car ! LOL

probably a couple of things going on in that pic.....it doesnt show it in any of the pics but he likely has a BBSS (big (sway)bar, soft spring) set up in the car as opposed to the earlier SBBS(small bar big spring) set up like my car has.....lifting the inside front wheel is very much a characteristic of that set up.....watch the Cup guys at Sonoma especially, the whole field is doing it all over the place....

That and coupled with the fact that stock cars have very little susp. travel below the "at rest" postion anyway, other wise it it would take too long to get the wheels off the ground when changing tires in the pitts.....jack my car up 2" in the 'spot' in the middle of the framerail and both the front and back tires are off the ground and will spin freely.....to change tires you'd want to double it at least though.

Regardless of whether or not the guy is a penis, the car is cool.

I found the company that makes the wheels he's using, but the largest diameter they make (for roadrace/autocross use) is a 16", which isn't a big deal except I can't find the right size tire in a 16"! I thought I finally found an affordable lightweight track use wheel, I guess not.
