WD Elements™ Desktop vs My Book® Essential Edition™

I am trying to determine the difference between the two.

They have different cases, the Western Digital elements has the normal external hard drive enclosure and go horizontal or vertical. Does the Essential come with back up software and the elements does not?

I don't need the software.

I can not find the Western Digital hard drives used, are they they Green or Black editions? Both have 1 year warranties.

I am looking at the 1TB version, the Elements Desktop is a little more but since I need to stack external enclosures I don't think I have a choice?

I have the 500 gb my book I think. It is just below the one that allows remote connect. it comes w/ back up software. I used the firewire cable. usb is too slow. no problems so far.
