I have been a member here for a while, but have not posted until today. I try to find the answer I need using the search function rather than asking redundant questions. I am currently building a 84 Monte Carlo SS, on a budget. The car was very clean with low milage when I bought it. I have rebushed the suspension, new Bilsteins all the way around, lowering springs, and LS1 front brakes. Of course wheels and tires, next is a standard shift conversion. I will start tackling that as soon as the weather breaks here in NY. Below are some pics, and thanks for all of the good information available on the site.

Welcome... did you end up spacing those front springs?

I sold them to Pazzo (SP?) and went with the 2", sits perfect now. My radiator support must be made of lead I guess.

Nice MC SS. Welcome to the site. What size wheels and tires? 17"s? How much of a drop?

My 3" drops on my Malibu sat low too. Maybe they gave me 2" drops on my Monte cause it seems to sit perfect too... not too low at all.

It seems to be my luck with springs, I ordered a set of Eibach's for a 67 Skylark I had. Same bodystyle as a Chevelle, it dropped the Skylark like 4" but was listed as 1.5". When I ordered it I specified BB with air. Oh well it is all good now.

ASAIK Eibachs are a one size fits all kinda spring.. The made my Monte look like a 4x4.

We used Hotchkis on my dad 70 Monte 454. They sat it perfect.
