View Full Version : how to fit z06 weels on a 3rd gen
Id like to run 18 inch z06 combo on a 3rd gen camaro anyone know how to properly fit these??? Everyone says it takes a 2-2 1/2 spacer!!!

I have them on a 2001 ss and they work well....need bigger tire on back though...Going to put 305's on rear soon...What do you think about the bowtie exhaust??? ( Wifes car)

Its an adapter. So you have 10 wheel studs/10 wheel nuts per wheel. I've run mine on a chevelle for 2 years of hard use and no issues.
C5 Z06 on 72 Chevelle.

Most of the third gen owners on other sites are saying that you just need a 2" adapter

I ran a 17x9.5 on all four corners with 275/40's on GrandSport wheels. You DO have to run spacers to fit them. I used Skultes numbers to come up with 2.25" in front, and 1.50" in the rear. Some guys switch over to a 4th gen rear end for brakes and due to the wider track of the 4th gen rear you do not need spacers.
When installing adapters make sure to use a removeable Loc-tite on the threads.
The bowties are just a reminder to the ford boys....its the last thing they see!

LOL.....so true....happened a couple of weeks ago...I dont normally do any street racing, the fines are too steep.....BUT... this guy in a nice GT mustang just would not stop trying, I mean for about 2 miles he kept reving and jumping the car next to me trying to get me to slow down to run with him, I just wouldnt do it...Finally the wife got tired of it and looked at me and said "I know you want to so just get it over with, he's getting on my nerves!" God I love that woman!! LOL...Well lucky me, we both got caught at the next light, I gave him a little nod...light changed and he never knew what hit him!!!! I really thought he had more for me as hard as he was working to get me to run him!!
