This is rediculous. Lead laws prohibit sales of dirt bikes for kiddies.

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/090215/motorcycles_lead_ban.html

"I think they took this law a little too far," said Margie Hicklin-Krsul, the owner of Redline Sports, a sports bike dealership in Butte. "I've never had anyone come in and say, 'My child keeps putting parts of his motorcycle into his mouth.'"

I bet even though the regulation had no intention of restricting 50cc Motocross motorcycles, that some pointy head nut job political hack will take it upon themselves to save us from ourselves and keep the ban on the small motorcycles. Pretty soon you will either need a license to own a steak knife, or the government will send out a "trained" meat cutter so we don't hurt ourselves.......what am I thinking meat is bad for us so it will be on the banned list before the knives get outlawed.

The intent of the ruling is to prevent toys with leaded paint being sold totodlers. Since a motorbike is painted, and that paint contains lead, these 'toys' are now illegal tosell, resale, service, or do much more than put in a dark garage.

Because everyone knows that kids naw on motobike frames and tanks....

I watched this on the floor when they were voting on it and I wondered how long it would take for the first real non problem would be attacked.

A congresswoman was stating that the law should read that no product could contain any lead in any manufacturing process in the forseeable future. When she said that I wanted to go remove her car battery from her car to keep her safe immediatley. Why wait to find a replacement for lead first like normal responsible people would do. she should have been made to walk home!!!!

That bill will make more waves than they ever envisioned and when people really get awakened they will really see these clowns for who they are. It was designed to eliminate jobs in this country if you closely listened, at least that is what happens when a company moves oversees to make products not allowed to be made on U.S. soil. The problem came from oversees and that is who they want to keep blaming as if it will vindicate themselves for what they did.

That motorcycle could be completely lead free without the battery and electrical system ,add what is needed and your in trouble.

Laws can be repealed in a country like this still if WE change it.

Now I have to call that guy named d!ck in my state since he sponsored it so well.

This law has put a few small companies out of business already too. The testing costs a lot of money. The politicians will never figure out they do/did more harm than good.

Well its about time they did this im all messed up from licking my honda zb50 frame! J/K, this is stupid it looks like a reason to keep kids from riding them. What next football pads when kids ride bicycles? Theres a difference between a ninja turtle with lead paint for a child vs a dirtbike with lead paint on a swingarm. Its common sense which seems to be missing from alot of people these days.
