1968 Firebird "SICT8"

Here is my 1968 firebird that was given to me by my grandparents as a gift, because my grandpa has WAY to many projects. I obtained the car around 2003. Some of the photos are poor quality from a friends camera, but now I have my new dslr camera for some awesome pics you will be able to tell.

Here is the motor After I rebuilt it. The car sat outside covered for some time so I need to refinish the motor before the car goes for paint before summer.

Now, just got the rear back from the powder coater along with the brackets.
Auburn Posi, 3.90 gears, Aluminum girdle "studded", all new seals and bearings, and a Rear disc brake kit. They cleaned EVERYTHING as well.

I know I could have gone 9" ford or 12 bolt for as much money as I put into this rear, But i wanted to keep the original pontiac 8.2 rear since they are unique.

Coated the underside of the car with magnet paints CHASSIS COAT in gloss black because the car will be getting painted Black anyways. I spayed the paint on with a paint gun and all I can say is WOW this paint is by far the best I have ever used, thinner doesn't even take this stuff off.

Well after getting my rear all mocked up and finished it finally is in the car with.....Brand new 2" lower leaf springs, adjustable shocks, and full poly bushings. Everything you see is NEW including all the rearend internals minus axles. All the bolt you see that have some surface rust on them will be finished later.

Got the wheels mounted up after the suspension was installed.

Then we took out the motor and trans. to refinish since it sat for awhile from the last rebuild. The engine will look brand new again when im done.
Next weekend the front subframe will be pulled out and refinished again lol, this time with tubular control arms and delrin bushings. the rest of the car including the firewall will be coated with the same paint as the undercarriage. The reason we have to refinish everything is because the car sat for 4 years unfortunately.

Are the TTII's the final wheels going on the car? It appears that the backspace may not be enough to get the tires inside the wheel-wells.

They are coys wheels, And the backspacing is dead on. From the pictures it may look as if the wheels are sticking out, rest assured they are actually inside the lip of the fenderwells.

This update is WAY over due. Disassembled the car and had it media blasted and epoxy primed, found I had some rot in the windshield channel by the dash, lower passenger quarter, and the driver quarter will get a new skin. Also have purchased a c5/c4 hybrid kit. I will be updating this more frequent.
