Ok, I have found a very nice piece from Alterkation. However it is hard to shell out that much money.

Does anyone know if there are some better ways to accomplish a good adjustable front suspension for cheaper.

What setups are some of you guys running?

Nobody worked on these cars? I know someone has. It would make a great protouring car.

What are your plans for the car? Show,Drag,Autocross,Street.
Cheap an good are often not in the same league.
Give us some info an we will see if we can help.

I have a 68 notch back coupe that we plan to build.
I have looked at all of the suspension kits out there,
But decided to do a complete frame an new floor pans under this car.
It will most likely be C-6 vett. up front an a Jakes toque arm in the rear.

Look up "the green brick", it's a budget Valiant using factory mopar torsion bars and ran with Vipers on the road course. Also, call Firm Feel in Washington has been racing Abodies for a long time and sell what they race.

The alterK is well worth it. Makes removing the engine a snap, tons of clearance for headers, cuts a lot of weight, adjustable coil overs, etc.......I have it and modified it to suit my build, (71 Demon)

What are you planning for the C-6 front and frame? AME Max-G, XV or scratch built. I'd be interested in hearing about your plan.

I am looking for a good handling street car that would come close to handling like a new corvette.

The car is setup for drag racing right now but i want to go more into the protouring relm with it. Not many of these cars setup this way, and I like being different.

Rear suspension is a ladder bar with coil overs on a 8 3/4. car is only mini tubed so the right set of wheels and tires would look killer.

If you are converting over to a 5.7/6.1 hemi or 426 style the alterkion becomes more bang for the buck. Especially if you are starting with a bare project car with drum brake, worn old steering, etc etc.

What do you have now to work with? Discs? What year K-member? Front sway bar car?

If you want to go from your drag car setup to a C6 Corvette level handling you're making a big jump. And it going to take $$$

Or something less expensive

Up front:
welded up K-member
1 1/8 front sway bar
1.18 T-bars from Firm Feel
QA1 shocks
offset upper control arm bushings Moog 7103 installed for more caster or Firm Fell tubular UCA's
73-76 A-body disk spindles with 11.75 disk and stock calipers
Or a 13" www.arengineering.com (http://www.arengineering.com) Brembo/Viper caliper swap

I don't know what to salvage from your ladder bars. :dunno:

Hi Wes
Sorry it took me a little bit to get back to this, been busy.
I will most likely build from scratch, working with Jake's Rod Shop to build the frame
Based off of his front C-6 Apex an rear torque arm.
I should have pics of this set up in the next couple weeks as we are installing the rear torque arm in the shop's Killer Orange Camaro soon.

I painted the rear an components for the torque arm this week, just waiting on the rest of the hardware.
Thanks hope this helped answer your ?s

David,
This sounds awesome. I can't wait for some pictures. I've got an e-body Challenger that I'm trying to make the suspension decisions on. Full frame from Jake's huh...I'd sure like some more details! I was already considering his torque arm in my head but waiting for more details and installs by others.

Thanks, Wes

Mopar front ends are already adjustable to a greater degree than type c or type f front ends with better geometry than their competitors of the era. Are you running in some sort of race series that necessitates quick spring changes or some other aspect of adjustment that a coil over provides that a t-bar doesn't? The stock suspension can easily be built to corner at 1g for less than the basic Aterkation kit would run.
