Wondered if I could get a little help?? A guy on another site has a complete disk brake package for sale he is currently running on his '79 T/A. I was intending to do the tall spindle swap on my Lemans using a set of '76 T/A spindles. Other than the outer bearing size (and can it be swapped), is there anything else that would cause a problem or would I need to use the later spindle? How about the rear, I am still running the stock 8.2 rear in the Lemans?

Here is a link to his ad:

I know there might be better upgrades, but cash is a real factor right now and this would be a fairly reasonable complete conversion that falls in my budget.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Is the link broken or is just me?

As for the outer wheel bearings, it depends on the hubs and bearings being used as to whether or not they can be changed out. If it has a SET34 bearing with .844" ID then it can be swapped to a SET2 bearing with .750" ID as the OD's are the same. If it has a SET3 outer wheel bearing, there is no .750" ID equivalent with the same OD. Big outer journal spindles are easy to come by in the yards though...just track down a 91-96 B/D-Body or you can buy them new from GM still.

Links broken. There are some kits for the 8.2 rear that use the caddy rear calipers which will fit you budget search on yahoo. I had to make spacers to get my wilwoods to fit but that doesn't sound like the route your going.
