I am trying to get the Lower trim molding off the front windshiled. I was able to remove the rest of the trim with my homemade tool (ugle but it works) Do I need to remove the cowl piece? I also need to know how to take off the wipers before I get angry and damage something.

You do need to remove the cowl piece, the molding is held down by screws hidden under it. FYI A battery post puller tool works great for pulling stubborn wiper arms. Good luck.
