I watched the 2004 Targa rally this weekend on the speed channel. It looked like it would be an absolute ball. Talk about something suited for pro-touring cars!...they even have a vintage class. Check it out if it comes on again or www.targanewfoundland.com

yeah that 67 Acaidia was doing very well, wonder what he was running for suspension?
I don't think I would want to do that in my car, way to many picket fences. If I were to race a ralley it be in a mini or an old bug.

Hey Vince, if that was a medium blue Acadia, there was an article about it in Grassroots, that I think I still have. Let me know if there are any particulars you need to know or if you want a copy.

maybe im just morbid but i see spectator injuries in the future for that event. its just a bad mix of fast cars and unfamiliar roads with onlookers behind police tape. i love the event but i dont know if the spectators are savvy enough to stay safe. did anyone else get that feeling or am i out of line?

I've always been a rally fan, but I love road rallies like this best. Getting road closures is tough in the US, but I'd love to do something like that. I've been thinking it would be fun to loosely organize a "drivers' get-together", but the liability would be killer. Nothing like endorsing street racing, right... :slap:

i guess the the thing i was getting at was that the fans at that event have the event come to their doorstep as opposed to the rally fans who follow rallying around , they might know what to expect . one thing at least about the targa ,seems that the tight turns in the populated parts keep the speed down. again, i love the event and i watch it every year .
if you guys get speed watch autoerotica for the mille miglia its similar to targa nf but even sicker. ( if it wasnt that show someone correct me)
