Can some one recommend the best source for 1969 chevelle body mount kit? I checked with Global West and unfortunately they stopped making them. I've also checked Jegs and didn't find 1969 chevelle kit. I am looking for a complete kit for the chevelle, hardware, inserts, and poly (at a minimum) bushings.

Also any input on solid vs poly vs nlyon (would like to know more about this options) would be greatly apprieciated. Not sure I wether to go the solid mount route for fear of flex / cracking other parts ie fire wall and winshield.

I searched this topic and found little in the way of best source / extensive discussion regarding the various options plus / minus.

I currently have the body off the frame and am digging into cleaning up and stiffing the frame. Plan on boxing the C channel portions of the frame. Have rear upper control arm to lower control arm braces to be installed. A roll cage is an option I am considering as I would like to track day the car.

Thanks in advance for your input / suggestions.

if you are going the full stiffening route, i would machine them out of delrin or aluminum. if there was one thing to learn from doing a frame off on an A-body, its that the body supplies a TON of rigidity to the frame. before i thought it was the other way around.

ive boxed the frame, added a couple crossmembers, and i just finished "webbing" the frame like the roadster shop cars. i may add a 4 pt cage, but i need my back seat.

Widow,

Thanks! I've read some posts regarding changes behind the front and rear bumpers on A bodies. I assume they are either boxing or adding a brace (weld in?) to the front and rear sections of the frame. Sounds interesting.

I was able to find poly body mount kits on Energy Suspension's site. Probly need to decide on plans for a cage and select body mounts based on this decision. I don't want to take all of the civility out of it but would like to improve stiffness and hopefully make the cars setup a little more consistent.

The motor makes a little over 450hp, low by some standards but definetly enough to tweek things. And a GW suspension I can only imagine adds stresses beyond stock design. Don't have any cracks, but have seen quorious signs of twist ie shinny areas (not near the wheels / tires) near the suspension pickup points.

Been a while since I've visited this site again (side tracked racing a spec miata for a while). The site and PT has really evolved, amazing the wealth of info / technology.

Thanks for the input!
Rick
