Anyone ever use the demon carb designed for the 350 ho motor. is it worth the expense? Currently using edelbrock performer. Is the demon better, noticeably?

This may be one sided....but.... I hate Edelbrock Carbs....just my opinion.
Holley or Demon will work fine, just remember Demons flow more for the same size.
Sooooo.... all comes down to what you know how to tune, how much money you have to spend, whats the end use,and what look you want.

I had a Mighty Demon 750 on a BBC. Could never get it tuned properly. Went back to a Holley, and should have never left.

I'm running a 750 speed demon on my stroker small block and absolutely love it....no issues what so ever and the throttle response is great, no hesitation at all.

I got mine and had the metering blocks on the wrong sides. Other than that it was fine.

I recently swapped my Edelbrock with a borrowed 650 Speed Demon on my very mild 350 in my truck. All I can say WOW, what a difference it made! The throttle response was much crisper and over all it seemed the truck had more power. It was like night and day. I would say most carbs like Holley, Demon, Quick Fuel, etc would be tons better than your current one.

When I first put the engine in my 68 charger (383 BB). I installed a speed demon 750 double pump. I have to admit, it take some tuning on my part to get it where I want it but, that is what you are going to have to do with any carb.
Outside of changing the jets, squirters, I love mine. I got it to the point where the throtle responce was dead on, zero hesitation.
I have also used edelbrocks. Of course after a little tuning, they were ok. I tended to use these on past cars to get a little better gas milage. But if you are interested in max performance, go with the demon, holly.

Big issues with Edelbrocks are you HAVE to learn how to tune,,, period.
I have yet to meet a lot of people who like them who understand HOW to tune an Edelbrock/Carter.
My 77 Monza got a 600 Carter and I have another one that needs a kit, havent got around to checking to see if Edelbrock parts might fit.
Strange when Chrysler made some pretty big power numbers with AFB/AVS carbs on Max Wedges and Hemis.
Never had major issues except when idiots worked on them first.
Not knocking other systems, just hate the bad rap the Edelbrocks get.

We have used a few BG crate engine carbs. Bolt it on and it works great. The fuel curve was perfect out of the box. Think of it as a custom tuned carb out of the box.

Just my thoughts
I have had a demon 625 a holly 750 dp and now a 1407 edel 750 on my nova
all three were tuned with a wideband setup I have on my car
Edel runs the best of all three
engine setups have changed but I will always be a edel guy from now on out
unless i try and run a blow through setup
JOSH
im tossing my demon for a holley!

The Demons and Holley's are pretty equal but you have a better chance size for size of making more power with a out of the box Demon versus an out of the box Holley but Holley's are just as good with a little work by a carb builder. The Holley will probably end up costing you about the same as a Demon after the modifications, everything else being equal, the Demon is a better looking carb if that's important to you.
