Hi guys,
I was wondering what is appealing about the Pacific Northwest? Why do you guys choose to live there? How is/are the weather, schools(elementry-high), and people?

Nothing....stay away. :)

j/k...lived here my whole life. The NW is a really big area.....drastically different sides of Oregon. Ultra Liberal (Portland) to totally conservative (Everthing East of Portland).

The weather in August and September.

Besides that you need a vacation home in Arizona.

I was born up there. I like the south much better!

I lived in Astoria, OR for 2.5 years. It makes Seattle look like Palm Springs. Miserable freakin place. Portland is a great city except for it's governance.

Eastern side summers hot and dry winters cold and dry
west side wet all the time hot or cold moss grows on most cars on the west side!

Lived here all my life (except 4yrs in the military). There are really 4 seasons here, which doesn't happen in a lot of the country. We don't get the extremes(subfreezing temps or triple digit temps, Hurricanes or tornadoes). We have actual mountains(ask someone from the Midwest what that is). Sure, it rains here, but its not a monsoon. The summers here are good. Not sunny everyday, but a very good mix. There is lots to do with mountains near, lakes everywhere, and the ocean not too far away.

I moved up to Seattle from SoCal and stayed for 5 years and then moved back. I moved right after college to work for Boeing. Got my 5 years in and moved back. The summers are awesome, but its super short! Seattle was just too gloomy for me. Going from SoCal with it's endless supply of sunshine to Seattle with it's abundant amount of overcast was just too much. The people are super friendly and a good place to raise a family, but SoCal is the place for me.

Main thing I like here is that there's a little something for everyone and every mood. You want a desert? We got one. You want mountains? We got those too. You want to see a rainforest? Yep, got one. Want to be in the outdoors and get away? Plenty of area to do that.

Every time I move away, I always find myself coming back.
