We do dream cars...Art Morrison chassis, modern suspension and braking systems...every man's dream (or lady)...we like to help make the dream come true.

Interesting but a couple of observations;
Can anyone really afford a dream car right now? AM frame, suspension, brakes, engine, etc... has got to add up to 100k+ I would think.
And two - A coupe? All that for a 68 coupe? Not knocking the coupe owners but why?
Regardless, good luck and when/if the economy changes I may call about doing my 69 mach1.

Why build another fastback.I have a coupe that I am going to have the guys in my shop start on soon. Dont get me wrong I like the fastbacks but why try and do a car thats been done so many times.I havnt seen a coupe that has been done to an ultra high level.Looking forward to following this build. Sorry - bad choice of words on my behalf. I did not mean to offend. I was thinking 68 fastback and was surprised they are doing a coupe.
Here are some pics of a very nice coupe. Has all the good stuff - AM frame, Wilwood brakes, Cammer Engine, shaved doors, drip rails, sweet / functional interior, etc.... I've seen it run high 10's on drag radials. I suspect there is way over 100k in it....

That is a lot of $ put in a Coupe but hey its your car your $ so go for it. What are the plans for power?

I chose to build a coupe for my recent build just to not be another guy with 67/68 fastback.
In my opinion the fastback is harder to get just right. If the wheels or stance is off at all they look worse than the coupe. I could go at least another 10 years before I see another blinged out Eleanor.
Long live the coupes...................

We are building a 68 fastback for one of my twin sons. I had bought a 67 coupe to build but he just didn't like the coupe. So as a dedicated dad I looked around found the fastback at the Unique auction and we are build it from the ground up.We are NOT going to build an Eleanor. We feel it has been way overdone. I still have the coupe so who knows after their projects it might be next.

If you like the lines of the '67/'68 Fastbacks but don't want a bellybutton car, why not consider a Torino?

Lots of parts interchange as well, and I can practically guarantee you won't see another one at a show. At least I never do.

very nice setup on the engine. I like it a lot.
Is that an F1R ? looks like it and it looks like the 1300 hp intercooler like I have on mine.
good engineering if so.

Im a little late to this thread but I also have a 68 coupe ;)
It was my first car, ever - drove it in high school. I sold a 67 fastback when I was able to buy my coupe back a couple years ago.
Fastbacks are more valuable ($10k fastback shell = $1500 coupe shell).. I'm not worried about it. I've seen some REALLY nice coupes (on this site), so you're not the first one to dump some money into one. THey are all pits anyway :)

I'm building a 68 coupe as well. I don't have the $$ for an AM chassis so I made my own frame.

If I hadnt lucked into my Fastback I'd be building a coupe. Around here the coupes still seem to out number the fastbacks though.

Hey! Don't knock the Notch! At least us Ford guys have choices. With GM you either have post or no post...ooh how exciting :D
My first car was a '68 coupe that I got back in '98. I love that thing. It's just a little 289 with an auto and open diff, but the girls don't care! I was able to pick up a '68 fastback a few years ago (which is undergoing a full rebuild), but I think the coupe is still my favorite.
Here's the old girl, circa 2001

and the new lady, circa 2009

Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to this project!

I sold my 67 fastback when I was able to buy back the 68 coupe that I drove in high-school, 20 years ago! I'll be starting on that in a few months.
