Hello,
I'm very new here, so take it easy on me please. I'm still trying to figure out how to best sift through the information archived here.
I have some general questions and just wanted to hear some discussion about a Convertible G-machine. The car I am putting together right now is a 1968 Camaro Convertible, and it has all the goodies from Detroit Speed to make it handle and stop like a proper sporting car. I'm sure it will be a blast to drive anywhere. But I want to know where I can have fun with my Camaro other than the street. I do enjoy taking cars to the road course, or autocross for track days, but I have never owned a convertible. And I do like to drag racing sometiems. Again, is the convertible a problem here?
I have also heard of some insurance problems through Hagerty and other places once you put a roll bar into a car. And I am guessing that many sanctioning bodies will want a roll bar of some sort if you want to run a convertible.
The car belongs to a good friend, and I'm helpign with the build. I hope im not coming off as an idiot here. I just want to plan some safety equipment if I need to. Or figure out if this car will be nothing more than a cruiser and canyon driver. Please share any experiences you may have with a similar build. I'm just looking for some ideas so I can plan the rest of this build.
