My brother and I have been working on first gen Camaro's for over 25 years as just a hobby. We have never had real good luck with cars, maybe that has finally changed. Recently we were asked by a family member if we could help a friend who had recently had a loss in their family (RIP). They needed some property cleared and for our labor we could have whatever we found. One month later, while going behind a barn on the property my brother noticed a cover over something. He kneeled down to look underneath it and could not believe his eyes.......a 1969 RS Camaro !!! The car has been there for well over a decade, maybe two. It is rough and needs alot of work. Maybe now one of us can win the lottery to actually build the car. Anyway, I will update this thread with new pictures as we pick this car up and document the process.

The trunklid has holes for a spoiler, and the emblemholes are staggered.

Is it a Z?

Ya, what he said^^^

Anybody in FL remember the Silver 69 Z28/RS that WDIZ gave away in 1984/85 time frame, we went to see it, not a bad looking car, I wonder who won it and where it is,

Steve it's funny you mentioned the 69 WDIZ28. The initial contest winner was a guy I went to high school with. His car had been a 73ish Laguna and we were so jealous of him when he won the Z. I was standing there when the name was called out. The car is probably in the same place as the defunct radio station....gone. If anybody knows of what became of that car in Central Florida, give a shout out.

By the way, we are gonna try and move the 69 RS this weekend. The tires are shot and the ground is soft and the driveway is blocked so this is gonna be a long day but well worth the outcome. I'll take some pics, don't worry. Wish us luck.

Allright. We went to move the car today. We knew it was going to be a long day. Weather was perfect. Had a list of what we needed. The car was lying on the ground with 4 flat tires. Had to dig it out, winch it out and then push it out. 6 hours later the car was moved 75 feet and one step closer to coming home with us.

It is a true 69 RS car. Not a Z28 or SS. The worst rust issue appears to be where it was laying in the dirt on the rear quarters. Rockers and framerails look good. The front fenders are gone but we have everything else. Interior is complete but rough. 350 engine non-numbers, 4 speed, 10 bolt. Car had a vinyl top. Front subframe is very straight, only slight surface rust on rest of car.

P.S. When you take extra wheels along to move a car.....don't take 14 inch Ralleys. They won't fit over the calipers and the car won't roll......duh.

Believe me, this is not complaining. But damn that was a tough weekend. The car is now at our place. After 2 full weekend days, strained muscles, a little bit of blood, a trailer tire blowout on the way home, lots of little problems and an irate neighbor, the car is in our possession. My brother and I are beat. I'll load some more pictures in a few days.

Nice find. Very nice to see regular guys find a "real" barn find and not some guy finding a car that was just stored for several years. Oh yeah, the price is the best part

Here are the pictures of the day we moved the car. Since then it has been in storage while we slowly collect parts. Bought a GM RS grill and a nice used cowl and SS hood. Still looking for some fenders.

( Is that the back up tow package as that aint no trailer! )

You are correct. Remember the beginning of this thread I made a statement about my luck....part of that was because my custom made trailer was stolen from my driveway and never recovered. This is all I could afford as a replacement.
