View Full Version : A few quick 4w disc questions

I'm upgrading my Nova SS from 4 wheel manual discs to 4 wheel power discs. I know that a disc/disc system moves more fluid through the system during operation than a drum/drum system. I plan on buying new stainless steel brake tubing to replace the 40 year old stuff.
Since I'm going 4 wheel disc, should I have the line going to the rear custom made in 1/4" tubing instead of the stock 3/16" (knowing that more fluid moves through the system)? Or will I be fine with the stock tubing?
Also, my budget is kind of tight so I'm thinking of going with this booster/master combo:

Does that look like it would do the job? They say it can handle disc/disc setups. Or should I shell out for this one:

Thanks!

I went with the 8" dual diaphram you listed. Gave me a little more clearance at the valve cover. As for replacing the rear line, I remember reading a long debated thread on this site somewhere about that very question. I just used the stock line and everything works just fine. You may want to do a search and read that thread.

Most disc systems I've seen or heard about are 3/16 size. Disc systems typically have smaller diameter bore size in the master cylinder which actually means less volume and higher pressure.
