is a 9.0:1 engine to much compression to spin two hair driers for about 750 horse on pump gas? :banghead: have been reading all day and haven't found a solid answer everything says 8.5:1 when building one.

You can do it. You will need to be very careful in your tuning. Pay special attention to the intercooling.

Unless your combo is already built, I'd go with 8.5 max & let the boost do the work. With 9:1, and only looking for 750, why go twins? Granted- they'd be more street-friendly, but is it worth the cost & weight?

i am on kinda of a tight time and money budget, the bill mitchell 427 small block has 10.0:1 with 64cc heads so i figure with AFR 76cc heads that gives me about 8.8:1 or so. i can get a real good deal on them from a friend that is the over seas part import guy at jegs so i was kinda tring to go that way. i know it would be easy with a NA engine to make that kinda power but i want the street friendly and the abilty to crank it up sometime down the road to more horse. also as far as i can find out there insn't alot of TT PT cars in the columbus area so i wanted to be a lil different then the show cars and pro streeters.

A BM 427, and on a budget? Dude- for that, get it built exactly how you want.
