Hi I was wondering if anyone has built their own overhead storage.
kinda like this http://onrax.com/

I seems like it would be pretty easy to make.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I've thought of doing exactly that in my 1 car garage, just havent gotten around to doing it. I was going to make it from lumber, shelve elbows, and some slotted angle iron to make hangers from the studs/rafters. Put it up above the garage door as all my other wall space has been taken by shelves.

Here's what I did...
WarehouseRack.com is a local Houston company that buys and sells surplus warehouse equipment. I bought ten wire decking inserts (48 x 48) like you's see at Lowes for from them for $5 each. They had thousands of them of varying sizes. I suspended them using aluminum "L" stock on the front and wire clamps on the back next to the wall. I wasn't sure how much they'd hold, but I can hang from them with no problem and they've been there for three years now. It's amazing how much room it saves! The best part is that I can see everything that's up there. I write on the bottom of the box so that I can read it from below.
