The last time I heard this was on cassette and I was in 8th grade (I'm almost 35 now) And I can't believe how well this music holds up. Black Sabbath's last horah with Ozzy - Never Say Die is the album title... circa 1976ish. It's definitely their least popular album, and it might be because it's new again to me, but it's every bit as good as their other stuff, if not better.
Anyway.. anyone else have something they'd like to pass off as obscure quality music?

Not obscure by any means but I used to have an 8 track of Sex Pistols "Never mind the Bollocks". I used to listen to it so much I got pissed off one day and through it out the window. I should've kept it. It would be a collectors item by now.

Tony..X2 on Never Say Die. That is a great great great great great album. Surprisingly Ozzy had very little to do with it. He would show up late when the rest of the band had left the studio and would do his vocals alone with the sound engineer. Then he'd pass out on the couch drunk. He didn't even make it all the way through the recording process either; the last song on the album is some other guy singing because by that time Ozzy had been thrown out of the band.
My favorite from it is "A Hard Road". Unbelievable jam.
In fact, I'm going to call that one up on the Ipod right now. Thanks Tony.

Interesting facts there Tony. Ozzy just has that dark sound to his voice, but Iommi just had an endless bag of melodies he could play. I'm amazed at the hooks and riffs that he constantly put out. The guy's a true master. And I just looked it up, the guys vocals you're talking about are Bill Wards, the drummer! He sounds pretty good, along with the harmonica. Well put together IMO.
Another fact about the album: A Hard Road is the only time that Tony Iommi & Geezer Butler actually sing on any Black Sabbath record - they do backup vocals on this song.

Oh man, I am the king of obscure rock. I would reccomend...
For vintage rock (ie 60's and 70's)
Captain Beyond- self titled
Pentagram- First Daze Here
Link Wray- King of the Jungle
Sir Lord Baltimore-self titled
For newer rock:
Fu Manchu- The Action is Go
Clutch- Beal Street to Oblivion
Kyuss- Welcome to Sky Valley
Scissorfight- Mantrapping for Sport and Profit
Hermano-Dare I say...
Brant Bjork- Punk Rock Guilt
Nashville Pu**y- High as Hell
If you like AC/DC, Zeppelin, Sabbath or Motorhead, you will like all of this stuff.
-Enjoy
There could be many right?
I always thought the Cults 'Love Removal Machine" album/CD would have had more mass appeal.
And yeah, Black Sabbath and Never Say Die = Great Stuff!

I'll see your Nashville Pu**y, and raise you a Grady - Cup of Cold Poison. Saw both these bands touring this fall, great show. Grady is led by former Canadian icon Gordie Johnson from Big Sugar. He's got some wicked slide guitar of his own!

I will certainly check the out.
I saw Nashville Pu**y and Ryder the Guitarist, who is SMOKIN' hot, threw down her guitar, smooshed my face into her boobs and fell off the stage into my arms.
Best show ever!
