Was watching Barrett Jackson on the weekend and their hammering away the cars all of a sudden Susi goes "Who's that??" you guessed it......none other than Linda Vaughn herself......"who is she??" was the next question......"Well dear.....LV is the stuff little boys deams were made of.....!!!!" and I proceeded to tell her the whole story of what an icon she is to the custom car world.......I clearly remember oogling her my brothers Car Crafts and Hot Rods in the late 60s and early 70s.......heres my favourite pic of her, post yours:drool:

I have talked with her several times, last year at BJ, Sema 07 and 08 to name a couple lately. She is from Georgia originally so we had something in common. She certainly is an ICON and still a hoot to talk to.

WOW!!
I wasn't around for the 60's and 70's, so to be honest I never understood the Linda Vaughn fixation.

BUT I UNDERSTAND IT NOW!!
Again: WOW!!

Linda is from Sugar Valley , Ga.
My Grandpa was the principal of the consolidated school in Sugar Valley in the late 1920's.
(My family is from the same area.)
Anyway , Linda and I have met several times.
She is a really nice lady.
When she used to come home to visit her Mom for the Holidays , she would always come by my Grandpas house and see us.
I haven't seen her in about 4 years.
I wonder how she's doing ?????

My wife likes to joke with me about her. The first time I met her she gave me a big hug like she had known me her whole life. We still laugh about that.

If the above pictures were taken in 05 and then in 09 that was a rough 4 years for Linda. Getting old sucks!!

Couple shots of JD and you would still have a great story!!

Forget my earlier statement then.

She WAS NOT in school in the 20's !!!!

My Grandpa just happened to be the principal of the school in her hometown.
Her Mom probably went to school in the 20's.

Linda has to be the sweetest lady I have ever met.
She hugs you like you are old friends.
She has remembered my name on a couple of occasions.

When she signs an autograph, be prepared, its no, two second, stuck up SEMA, I won't even look up, where's my koke straw, 17 year old 'I'm hot' be och.

The autograph is going to take a while, while see looks you in the eye and has a conservation with YOU. And she is genuine-ly interested, and she will remember your name.

No wonder she has been around the sport for years. A class act indeed. Great to look at yes, but a super nice person too.
We need a few more ladies like her in the sport.
