Fellas -
New guy here. I have a 71 Javelin that's going to get the Trans Am clone treatment. Drivetrain is a built 401 (500 hp), T10 4 sp (possible swap to 5 sp), and likely a 9" with disk brakes. Interior will be purpose built - no radio, no A/C, two lightweight racing seats, no back seat, roll cage, etc. Car is a 32k original mile California car with NO RUST, so will be easy to work on.
Intent for the car is something that I can race at the local level, maybe go to Maxton for a top speed event, and drive on the street. Doesn't need to be terribly comfortable; I have other cars for comfortable cruising.
Anyone have any ideas on front and rear suspension mods? I'd like to start with maybe weld-in subframe connectors and bolt-ons for now, but would consider a custom setup if the price isn't outrageous. Oh, yeah, this is somewhat of a budget build. Once I get through selling all the extra parts for the car, I will probably have $0 invested in it (didn't pay much for it and it came with a LOT of extra parts). I'd like to keep my total investment under $10k.
