So my buddy just emailed me this link. This is a good friend of ours from high school. Guy got involved in some stupid stuff and a few months ago I loned him some money to get his life back on track. I figured I'd never see the money again but I never would've expected him to do something like this

Scary stuff. I know of a few examples of these narcotic prescriptions making normal working people into drug addicts/criminals.
Truly sorry this happened to a friend.

Yeah my buddy always liked to party and even sold some weed but was always smart about it. At one time he had an $8k car paid for and had $10k in a safe. Got addicted to the oxy's and not only blew all his money but now owes people a lot also. These pills are a huge problem in the Spokane/Coeur D'Alene. The buddy who emailed me the link sayed that about 2 pharmacies a month are getting robbed up there. I've known a lot of people in that area were getting addicted to them but the robberies are crazy. I'll never understand how people can get so addicted to something. I don't even think drugs are fun, I prefer sobriety myself. You'd be amazed how much money the oxycontins go for too. I heard of one guy that was making $10k profit every month off of one perscription he was buying from an old lady for a few hundred bucks.

well I guess they caught Mikey. There were 6 pharmacies robbed within 2 weeks, but as far as I know he only robbed one. I'll be home in a week so hopefully I'll get a chance to talk to him and see what the heck was going on

Hey I forgot about this thread lol. Yeah they caught him. I didn't get a chance to see him while I was home but from what my other friends said he admitted to it all and says he needs help or he'll never get off the drugs. The guy he held the knife to happened to be married to some judge or something and he has something to do with the legal system also. But from what I heard the guy isn't going to press charges so hopefully they'll go easy on him and get him some help to get clean.

Why rob for the oxy's?? Just go to south Florida to one of the dreaded pain clinics...They will give you 300 oxy pills plus over 100 xanax pills every month.. No insurance, only cash, and they even have their own pharmacies on-site.. WHAT A FREAKIN JOKE>>>>> There has been a huge amount of OD's and deaths directly linked to those florida pain clinics in Ky... As youy can tell,. I am quite bias, I lost one of my fabricators (welders) to those oxy pills.. He was very hardcore, served time in prison for killing a man in a fight, had approx 1/3 of his face burned off as a teenager, was always on coke before the prison days, lost 140 acres of land while locked up, watched his dad kill himself with a pistol as the cops drove up to arrest his dad for making counterfeit money AND he overcame all of those obstacles only to be brought down by synthetic heroin a.k.a. oxycodone..

Not to get on my soapbox but the fact that we let Big pharm deal these opiates is a epic fail for our Government.
The biggest drug epidemic is the US now are drugs you can get in CVS...
Big Pharma is big trouble.. Not making excuses for folks like the OP mentions but the diff between Oxy's and heroin is negligable.
