Tailgating ideas

Ok so next weekend me and a few friends are going to the Rolex 24. I am trying to figure out some cheap things to do to make my truck a nice hangout spot. On my list to bring right now is two coolers full of food and drink, a few chairs, and I might throw a old bench seat into the bed of the truck. Also I'd like to find a way to rig up a little roof for some shade.

I'm sure there are things we could do that I cant think of. Any help guys?

an extra car battrery, power inverter, flat screen tv, satellite receiver and an extra dish. People do it all the time at the Clemson games I go to. If not the satellite, then at least a PS2 and some driving games.

Golf cart or trolling motor batteries, big ass power inverter, tv with satelite, eze up tent, lots of liquids of your choice, full tank of gas to charge the batteries also.

shade. Trust me, when It's hot there is nothing better. We camp'd for the indy 500 for the 1st time a couple of years ago when I was in college. We barely had enough money for the campsite and food ( and booze) nothing else was in the budget. Thankfully all our neighbors were gracious and we hid under their awnings all wknd.

entertainment is big:
horseshoes, cornhole, beerpong, cards, music. ect.

Good food and spirits to top it off.

Thanks for the tips guys. So far I think I'm gonna bring.

-Coolers with drinks and food
-A little grill
-Bench seat in the bed of the truck plus other assorted chairs
-A few towels and blankets(Either to lay on or stay warm with since I'm not sure about the weather yet)
-some kind of game
-And I think my buddy has a ez up tent I can snag

Yeah I have those coming too...... Probly the first time a girl ever asked me if I wanted to to go a race. How awesome is that!

The one thing you did not mention is a grill. It is a must have for tailgating. Then get some chicken and throw them in ziplocks or sealable bowls with some kind of marinade. Also steaks in a marinade or rub. Then the hotdogs and hamburgers. BTW don't forget the bacon and eggs for breakfast. Also of note a propane torch works great for toasting bread.

Yeah, but I think she is kinda into one of my best friends(who she did not invite at all...). But she is bringing another friend so who knows.

Anyways, I'm gonna try and bring a grill too. My buddy has one that he made to hang off the trailer hitch on pickups that work great. Didn't even think about bacon and eggs that's a good idea.

Want to have everyone passing by be envious? Go to the local Mexican market (not Safeway, Kroger, etc. ) and get some Carne Asada for lunch/dinner and Chorizo sausage and eggs for breakfast. That stuff will keep very well, cooks easily, and tastes great. Plus, it's really cheap. Tortillas, rice, beans, Tapatillo sauce etc....

An EZ-up is the best.

A small generator and a 100' cord is really nice to have. We kill batteries too easily with all the power requirements.
