That block wall was real enough to do some pretty substantial damage to the Ford pickup that ran through it. I don't think it was a full-on mortar and cinder block deal but it sure wasn't foam blocks.

I watch the last half of it and thought it was not airing until next week but caught it while surfing. I wanted to see more of the cars but hard to really judge them with tell with all the cutting in and out of all the video clips. I have to say I thougth the Ferrari team was a little flaky but they did really good in the challange.

The word on ALL of the forums is pretty much the same about team EVIL. Thanks for the props on the Bus. When my riv is done Iwouldnt mind taking it on a rally the same like that. It should be a lot more comfortable. You guys keep watching and check out speeds page on it. Its definatly going to be GREAT. I was worried about how it would be produced. I love it. Theres a TON more that happend behind the scenes that didnt air. There is some stuff on www.crackel.com (http://www.crackel.com) . Maybe cause I was there, but each day seemed like it could fill 2 episodes. Its got to be a tough job to go through all that film & cut it down to 40 Minutes.

No compensation, cars on the line..... **** I wish I got paid like an actor! lol.... If any of us had to really act, or play into a "fake reality tv show" like many paint it to be... I think it would be 10x worse! lol...

What is on the show is not scripted, not fake, not set up.... what happens happens, and that's just the way it is. Alot of people think some were told to say this or do that, but we weren't.... it really is a race to all of us. Between 24 people starting the show, it's not very difficult to edit and crop what everyone says to fill up a 40 minute episode, which probably 20 minutes of it is actually talking... so there is a storyline, but it's all real

Oh nooooo... The poor Dart! Was it salvageable? I was asking myself how could anyone be such a poor driver... but I have done a few dumb things in my life... like nearly totaling my old '89 Vette... but it was the cars fault! :rolleyes: I did feel a little guilty about laughing when the Evo was totaled... after I picked myself off the floor from laughing so hard.

spectator's view the evo clearly lost the blind challenge yet the ferrari got sent home. this week the evo seemed the faster car in
the challenge yet they lost to the dart.
my suggestion is this. if these events are to be verifyable why don't we see a live stopwatch during the challenge?
oh yeah, there needs to be suspense during the commercial break so we can all be surprised by the outcome. how theatrical.
in my mind they had to dump the ferrari (and porche) early. there is no way he was going to bust his pretty red nose through that fence. forget that 'it will buff out' crap. my exotic would never bullrun.

After finally watching it last night all I can say is WOW... What an ending. Yes I was snickering a "little" when the EVO guys smashed up their car. I'm glad no one got hurt. But the guy driving was a jerk. Felt sorry for the guy who owned the car.

As for Team Dart .. what were they thinking. Take you run and drive it back. Hot doging gets you everytime. I hope they are able to get it back on the road. But I doubt it will be drivable.

I felt exactly the same way. Even though I have this little place in my heart for Darts, I don't think it was the car that made me biased. Those Evo dudes were such asses I couldn't help but laugh when he totalled his friends car (then didn't show up to the elimination because he was so ticked, haha!)

Though, something about the coolness of the older guys on there (Team Camaro, Dart, ect...) makes me root for them the whole show. It's funny how the people who stay cool get no camera time, go figure.

Hmmm maybe I can explain a little bit. The editing really does screw ALOT of stuff up, and messes with perception. The Ferrari in episode 3 REALLY was ALOT slower... I know it was over 6 minutes for them to finish, even though the show said something else. The Evo did it in low 4 minutes, but had about 20 2 second penalties.... so they were still faster even with all the penalties. And the Avalanche just burned up that challenge!

Anyways, yea the Dart rolled.... it wasn't planned, it wasn't staged, and it ALSO wasn't a "victory" donut...

Ok so here's the scoop. Yea my pop's made a HUGE mistake... and he still feels bad about it, you guys should have seen him at the time. And he didn't go run the Challenge again immediately after we finished, we hung out for a minute, and then the Production crew had told him to go run it again, just for some better camera angles, etc. He did it again, and comming back he got a little too sideways, over corrected, and then hit a concrete curb that started at about 3" and slightly got higher to about 36"... so he pretty much went spanky spangler style.

It sucks, but mistakes are made. He owns it still.... But that's also why we brought a Dart to the show.... (no offense) Dart's can be replaced, very cheap at that.

And as for the Evo being faster, there's that magical editing factor again. Getting out of the car, running, getting back in, and strapping the helmets on is ALL included in the time. Honestly I really don't doubt the Evo was a faster car in the Challenge... but you guys should have seen how LOOOONNNG it took them to get their helmets on, and buckled up. They weren't really familiar with helmets in the first place, so they fumbled a bit. We had a plan with the helmets, since we knew we were outnumbered on this course, we had already strapped the helmets before starting, all the way loose.... so when it came down to getting them on, it was "throw the helmet on, zip it, buckle up, go". Technically (this wasn't on the show) we went faster than the Avalanche did.... more than likely just because of the helmets I think. But we were then given a time penalty for leaving too soon.... they have a safety check when you get your helmets on, and once you're cleared, you have a guy counting to three and THEN you take off... we left a little early and they docked us 3 seconds.

But hey man, that's how it goes. Mistakes are made, no one to blame other than ourselves :-/

The Dart has 2.73:1 Gears, 6" wide tires, 600lbs of torque, and a 4 speed. The terrain there was ridiculously slippery, a little too much throttle and that's how it ended up.

The producers probably want to create some hype, or an exciting story line to keep people watching. The Evo/VW stuff kept people coming back. Maybe they were too normal, or maybe it's just the editing...

I can't remember where I read it, but someone was crying because everyone was jumping in to help the Dart, but no one was helping to try and fix the Evo. After watching it again, there was no way the Evo was getting back on the road safely, at least with the ole Dart, the sheetmetal will beat back into form alot easier. Good to see everyone pulling together...

It looked a lot like the RCR cars that were built last year. IIRC they were from N./S. Carolina and were coworkers in a performance shop. Who knows if there were RCR boys?

Stop throwing in the Avalanche on these dirt course challenges.
You need to throw the Lexus girls in, the soltice in. and the mustang.
When there is a paved course on a track then you throw the Avalanche guys in.
The game is about elimination. And eliminiating the strongest.

Thats just what I was thinking after the last show. Put them boys on some pavement and see if they can run with the cars! So far on this show I think my Duramax would have done well..thats not right.

OMG!!!!!......the big L O N G pauses and then going to a commercial when he is announcing a winner or a go homer is amaturish at best and makes the show almost unwatchable.....

I suffered through the painful pauses last night long enough to watch the end and it was a big anticlimax......I thought he would at least have a buch of explosions going off and have the whole field of competitors there to congradulate the winners......instead its like "hey, you won!.....cool, see you later......"

I'm a Ford guy and I hate that show. Those hokey-ass challenges, that weirdo with the Vette, all the drama and explosions, you name it it turns me off. I'm glad I won't even have to see the commercials now.

wow was it me or was the 1st season a lot better..i liked last year how the had bonuses on every route and showed where all the cars were and kept you up to date on times..and the flag girls were hotter last year too..but glad someone from IL won ..that Spiro dude cracked me up..

I only watched the first few episodes this season. The driving challenges were really not interesting this time and it seemed like the routes left far less to the imagination as there weren't really many alternatives.

Maybe that changed as the season went on, but the first 3 episodes turned me off.

I watched every episode except the last one so far. I was just really hoping for interesting driving challenges and they really didn't have any. Too many of them came down to non-driving issues . . . like whether or not they had the presence of mind to get the jetski closer to shore.
