My wife deals with the auto body industry and was shown this product today.
The stuff looks very impressive.
Especially for those of us without TIG welders.

i have something very much like that its called alumaloy i think....any way its not THAT great its not very strong its much like solder for aluminum

I've used something similar. The main thing is the technique of the person welding. Actually it's a brazing proccess but aluminum does not show when it's just about to melt away. It's like learning to weld all over again.

One mistake like failure to get the aluminum clean enough or poor technique and it won't work. I tried some on a pot-metal part and it would not stick. But I can weld up a hole in an aluminum soda can! :)

David right, it's all about cleaning and practice practice practice.
I've tried a soda can and was successful, but that’s about it.

If you were interested in trying this technique I would go to Homedepot and buy a few rods from Bernzomatic they sell two rods in a package.
