Which required me stealing the coil off my Camaro just to get it moved from in front of the garage.
There is something that just isn't right about eating through so many ignition coils. The truck has an MSD box on it and after the 2nd MSD coil I've just been buying the local autoparts standard coil.
The failure is the same every time. The coil begins to arc against the square metal frame around it which weakens the spark to the point it won't run. Also, the same every time is that the coil goes bad after a failed start. Like this morning I went out to start the truck and it fired but didn't idle up.
The last coil lasted 4 months at about 500 miles.
What do you guys think? Is the MSD box eating coils?
