55 chevy shocks

I finished building my front suspension on my 55 chevy yesterday minus the shocks. Could you guys give me a little help here. The car will mostly just see spirited street driving.

My front end specs are:
CPP tubular uppers
stock lowers with poly bushings
2 inch dropped coils
stock spindles
CPP 500 gearbox (14:1)
CPP disk brake kit (single piston calipers, drilled and slotted roters)

I want a good quality shock that would fit my application and driving.

I have heard good things about these shocks, made for 55-57 chevy's, heres a list of app's and the part #'s

theres also a search on there where you can buy them too, there not the cheapest but you said "good"

I have a 2 inch dropped spindle on my 55 and went with a new gas monroe, I traded some parts I didnt need for a new set of 4 shocks for my 55, they seem to work fine for what I am doing but mines a beach cruiser, slow and low.

yea i have also heard some good things about bilsteins. know anything about kybs???

I have KYB is my car. They are a pretty stiff. Nice ride quality. I feel they are a great value. I am going to go with with bilsteins or konis in my car in the spring. I have monroes in my dads 56 nomad and the pretty good as well. All depends on your budget.

PS. I just put the 500 box in the car and had a bunch on issues making it fit and clean everything. How did yours go in?

My 500 box went on my car perfectly. we did have to make a small dent on the frame (toward the front most section of the box), which is stated in the instructions. Though i still need to put my pitman arm on and hook of the center link and install my new steering column. All has gone well so far!
