Ok here is a question for everyone. Right now I have 18X9's and that I could use 275/40'18's on. But I would like bigger tires. Now I could have the rears widened to 18X11's and fit much wider tires onto. Now my question is could I go to a 335/30-18 on the rear with only a 275/35-18 on the front? Would it handle ok with that big of a difference? I know right now I drove it on an icey patch with a big push. I know not the best yard stick for handling but so far it's all I have. It has never displayed any oversteer and I am affraid that bigger tires on the rear would only make this worse. I also realize that at the moment the suspension is mostly stock and that there will be many upgrades to the suspension. Just looking for some opinions.

Not sure what vehicle you're talking about.

If it's one of the G-Bodies, are the frame rails notched?

I think you are going to have to do that in order to get an 11" wide rear wheel on the Olds without some major fender massaging.

It's this one. Believe me I will have no clearance issues. I have almost 15 inches of wheelwell room.

Ok, I stand corrected!

I apologize.

I wouldn't have any idea of how it would handle to be honest.

Sorry to stick my nose in where it didn't belong.

No need to apologize. It's all good.

If you have the room, I do not think it would be a problem w/335's on the rear. Most cars here are running a stagger. I have 17 X 8 front w/ 245/45R17's and 17 X 10 rear w/ 275/40R17's That's all the room I have. :)

Exactly, that wagon and that Regal have basically the same suspension setup.I don't see you going any wider than 10inch without mods

Assuming that's true...

I realize this is off topic, but after reading your project thread I saw that you're planning a rear sway bar?

That being true, Suspension Techniques calls for the same rear bar for both the Cutlass and the Regal. However, it mounts inside the channel on the rear lower control arms.

The suspensions are essentially the same in that they have 4 arms 2 upper and 2 lower. But the frames are not and neither are the bodies. My frame rails go all the way out to the rocker panels then tuck in at the wheel wells. Keep in mind the inside of my car can haul a 4X8 sheet of plywood lying flat on the floor. My wheel wells are just about 15 inches deep. My sawybar is also much wider. The Impala/Caprice bar won't even fit. Still all of that fits within the frame rails and the frame rails tuck into the shape of the wheel wells.

I didn't know that info on the wagon chassis

Run wider in the rear you will like the way it drives much better, we run 8-10 up front with 12-13 in the rear and they run the tracks great. The 335/30ZR18 will kick ass on that car
