I hear there's some problems with the LSD's in the Shelby's. Is there a revised clutch pack ... carbon kevlar and a different "S" spring??? Inquiring minds want to know.
And congrats on the job, too.
Cheers,

As for the job its going good, just gotta locate a reasonable laptop if I get sent to a Ford school gotta have my own laptop.
As for theLSD what I got was they had a bad run and so far only a few had bad parts and were supposedly repaired/replaced before shipping/selling.
And let me tell ta the KR is awesome and the didnt know it but we have a P51, Blackjack, and red 427R, Ill try to post up some pics if we get nice day and batteries stay up in camera. Lots o' fun oh and the 427R is like 48k or 49k less like 6k in rebates so 435 hp for just over 40k.
Just gotta figure out just how many tools left my ownership in 2 yrs, sucks to get on tool truck, sucks for my wallet.

That must be new. I'm/was a Ford Senior Master Tech and I never needed a laptop. I haven't been to a classroom based school in about a year and a half either. Get on stars and do as much as you can right away. The more you have done there the faster you can proceed with the classroom stuff. Congrats on the job.

I was told to get a laptop, and was told some stuff was online and some was in class. Also read memo that some new stuff on the way is going to be password classified to each tech but havent got my Ford logon yet, gotta ride the guy who hired me to get it going. My other issue is shop computer for logging on to Ford and Alldata is simple wornout 500mhz Pentium, shop is wifi hotspot soooo lap top means info at toolbox, plus good excuse to get a laptop!
Already ASE cert Master Auto, Master Engine Machinist, X1/Undercarspcialist, and L1 Advanced level tech.
B ut lots to learn and do, and so far I make more here at $14 FRH than I was in shop that paid $23 FRH.

holy crap thats all ford pays??? I left the GM dealer circuit after 16 years about 2.5 yrs ago and I was at 33 an hour flat rate canadian. That works out about 26-27 USD.I hated all the waranty demands and the politics so I finally jumped ship.I hope it gets better and better for ya!!

It depends on the dealer and location. Ford Motor company dosen't set the wages. We had guys ranging from $14- $25. A high flat rape wage means jack if there is no work to do.
Monza, get on the classes ASAP. As soon as you start adding the specialist and master titles to your background you can expect to earn a bit more. Chasis master was the quickest for me. I doubt you'll have any issue with getting through any of the classes. You are way ahead of the game with the ASE's already in place. Those are what hold most guys up.
Stars will be password protected. You'll need one logon for QC dealer and then one for stars. I hated the politics of the dealerIwas at but Ford Motor Company took pretty good care of me. All the freebies for Senoir Master were nice.

Your right if the dealer has no volume your dead in the water no matter what you make per flat rate hour.I was pretty lucky with the dealers I worked for they were stupid busy with around 30 techs but the politics are unreal! Working at a small shop now and working on everything and lovin it !!
