what is a fair price for installing a complete wire harness in a 68 camaro? just labor i have the harness.

What harness do you have? Is the carpet in the car? Is there an old harness? Lots more info needed for a correct guess...

car is assembled , painless harness , carpet is in car. while trying to fix some wiring problems i noticed the wires are in bad shape . just wondering what this is going to cost.

Yes, its different for every situation. What electrical options the car has, hooking it up to the ignition, dash/gauges, etc.

pretty basic carbed 302, electric fans,msd 6al, tac and a three gauges. every time i strip back the insulation on a wire i discover more breaks . i have a new alternator, new optima red top. at night the lights get brighter and then dimmer with engine rpm.the higher the rpm the brighter the lights are. i think a good start would be to get rid of the forty year old wiring.

Really, it's pretty easy to do. I'm a newbie when it comes to a lot of this stuff, and I'm getting it installed pretty easy.

I have the 18 Circuit kit that's specific for the 1st gen F body, and I'm using some MAD Electrical kits for rear battery with remote solenoid.

Also, besides being fairly easy, I recommend it to learn more about your system and car if you're not real familiar. Gives you a chance to adjust things/route/hide things more to your liking.

My car is just a body with no interior, but the carpet shouldn't be a big deal, more likely the seats and steering column. Buy lots of convoluted tubing and take your time.

I recommend Klein crimpers, strippers and cutters.

Just my opinions based on installing my wiring right now.

As to price, I'd think you're looking at two days work depending on how experienced the shop is and if you want anything special. I would say $500 would be a low end guess. One shop that specializes in auto wiring wanted $1,000 to wire in the an LT1 motor and trans to my already wired car.
