My name is Nate. I'm resto-modding an 86 El Camino (G-body FTW!)
see the thread here: http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f30/project-wtf-is-an-el-camino-doing-on-s10forum-348105/
I'm on a ton of forums but mainly post on s10forum, turbobuick, El Camino Central, and thirdgen.org
anyway, the main reason I'm here is because of the brake and suspension tech sections.
I'm currently putting LS1 brakes on the front using 98+ Blazer spindles. yes the bearings are pricey, but I don't like using cut up factory spindles that will offset the wheelbase.
also doing some LT1 brakes in the rear because I want to keep my ebrakes. I've yet to find a factory rear disc setup that will not require shock relocation.
I'm trying to use as many parts from prodution cars as possible because there will always be replacements readily available. this is a daily driver afterall.
anyway, on that note, I'm off to explore the brake section.
