So I got my Christmas present today...from my attorney! Long story short, I caught a partner red handed double dealing for his personal gain in one of my corporations. Not only that but we had lent him a bunch of money prior to that. When everything came to light I demanded repayment on the loan and for restitution...all of which he said he would do.

Now here is where it gets good. Instead of making good on the deal he files suit against me and two years later here we are today. Bad situation gets worse when he gets in a helicoptor crash and dies! Now all the crap hits the fan and the multi-million dollar estate files for bankruptcy protection...today! Merry Christmas to me!

I won't go into details about how much was lost, but most of what I had busted my balls for the past 5 yrs is gone and tied up in federal court now. Even better, I could have finished my car instead of paying $50k in legal fees and looking like another $50k will be needed.

I bring this up because it is Christmas. Of all the times of the year, this is the best time of year. I know lots of people are hurting, have lost jobs or loved ones, and there will always be somebody worse off...but I'm still pissed off beyond belief! So again I bring this up because it is Christmas. Why is it so hard for some people to do the right thing? I guess that is the thing that hits home the most about this. Much more than the money, is just that we all try and be a little better...especially this time of year!

It sucks. In a perfect world people are good but that comes in the next life. I think they call it heaven. Until then...

You're not living on the street, cold, seeking shelter in a cardboard box.
You're not struggling to find the next meal for your children or yourself.
You're not halfway around the world, fighting for your country while You're loved ones have Christmas without you.
You're not recently out of a job and wondering what you'll do to take care of your family in the coming year.

I could go on but I think you get my point. I really do sympathize but when I hit a bad spot I try to think about all the rest of the folks who have it worse than me. Sometimes it helps put it in perspective.

Uh Yah...that's what I already stated critter. I was simply saying that it sucks to get taken advantage of. You missed the entire motive behind the post. I get pissed off when I lose $50 bucks little alone what we are talking about here. My point is that this time of year we could all stand to be a little better regardless of our circumstances
