Well i lost my job in september when the company shut its doors out of the clear blue sky. Work is hard to come by in this season for me as im in construction(for now anyway) and the economy. My question is i have a 63 impala which ive redone just about everything on except the body which is still nice but has had quarter work done but not the right way. I need to buy new wheels as the ones i have are the wrong offset. Would you spend any more money on the car to try and sell it? Im thinking that i might do air ride since iam a dealer for air ride products but not sure if i should spend more or not. Sorry for the loooong post just needing some opinions. Thanks Jeff

Cash is King. Try to hold onto your Project if you can, but don't spend anymore cash until you got yourself lined up with more work plus some emergency funds.
I hope your situation turns around quickly. If you situation is dire and you need to pay the bill, then I guess you need to pull the trigger and look at selling.
The sad part about getting laid off is now you have all the time in the world to work on the car, but no incoming cash to replenish what your spending. Maybe just settle with working on parts of the car that don't require a lot of spending. Maybe fix and tweak the small things that just cost sweat equity to keep yourself busy until things get better?

Sounds like a no brainer to not spend money until you have a solid job. As for selling you car or not I would not unless you have to. Only things selling are bargins right now.

I don't think I would spend any more on it if I didn't have anything coming in. Just because the car would be farther along doesn't necessarily mean it would sell for enough to ofset the cost. Or even sell for that matter. The market went stale on most projects needless to say.
Sorry to hear about your continuing woes. Hope it looks up soon.

Thanks guys. The car is a nice driver but after seeing what is posted on here as far as body work im not happy with it. Money is getting really tight so im starting to panic. My wife is a stay at home mom also so i was the one bringing home the money.

I still have a job and have for the time being stopped spending money, prepping for the worst. That $50 off $200 or more coupon from summit was hard to resist….
