72 elco Judge?

I just picked up a 72 elco. This will be my nephews first car. Hes is 14 and I have been his only father figure. He is now at a point that can work on his own car and know what he is doing. He isalso really like the Judge but could not find one in my budget to clone. Will the front end of a Judge fit in a Elco? has anyone done this? and yes the car/truck will be orange.

I am looking to give him this project for xmas, and work over the next 3-4 years. maybe sooner and I can shreed some rubber for him.

Of course ANYTHING can be done but to what extent.

If you're really set on this you'll have to look at a few things first:

1. Firewall - are they even close?
2. Fender inner structure - are they going to be able to be contoured to fit the new side firewall of the elco
3. Are the witdhs of the front ends even close?? If not you'll end up with hood issues.
4. Just because it can be done doesn't always meen you should try.
5. How much money are you willing to put into this vehicle.

look at this months hot rod to see what it could look like, it is just a rendering but looked pretty cool. Since it is all in the GM A body family physically it should fit. I do not know whether or not the body lines would line up. If GTO door skins are available you might be able to graph something together to get it all to blend in.

I was also going to mention the rendering in Hot Rod. I personally think it looks pretty sweet. I say build it and keep us updated with lots of pics once you get going.

Find a Leman's or tempest wagon you should be able to use the front doors an front clip on your elco.
the lower quarters off of a wagon rear an some work should be able to pull it off.

Think that the sedan and elCamino varints used different fron fenders and doors. IIRC, the read quarters were more slab sided, carried over from the 68-69 cars, so special front fenders and doors that had less convex shape were required o match the slabside

picked up the book and it looks good. I think I will wait and see if the show a build of it and how complicated it is.

I have seen an Olds 442 version here in the DFW area. The car was spectacular in detail. It looked just like the factory would have built it.No pics though.
