cheap steering parts

I'm about to order all my suspension joints and I saw that the products that classic industries sell are considerably cheaper than buying moog products through summit.

Has anybody used any of these parts from classic industries with luck:

Ball joints
tie rods
pitman arm/idler arm

The car is primarily street drive but will occasionally see some minor open track and auto x.

Answering your question, no I haven't used classic industries inexpensive steering parts.

As for me, this is not a place I'd personally use anything but first quality parts like Moog or OEM stuff

Stick with MOOG. The cheap stuff is someone's house brand. Side by side the difference is obvious plus amuch better warranty

not true side by side you cant tell a moog from one of the house brands because they are identicle right down to the finest detail. Advance auto parts I beleive had those..... Not sure Moog is what it once was.

All the house brands I have seen don't have the serations on the outside to help keep the ball joint from rotating.
Not sure on the serations. Two years ago when I bought the Moog peices from NAPA I went to Advance for a caliper and asked to see what he had for chassis parts for my Nova I was confused at what I saw so I got The Moogs from my car and perfect matches.. I was angry

By all means, purchase the cheapest steering parts you can find. Your money is much better spent on "pro-touring" staples like; multi link rear suspension, tubular A-arms, coil overs and giant billet wheels.

Ha Ha no kidding... There is more of that around here than one can shake a stick at. Cheap and suspension parts should not go hand in hand, as with anything you get what you pay for.

Glad that you took that the right way. I'm a m******* tried and true but I do like to think I speach the truth.

I've seen suspension parts fail at speed (real race speed (140mph+) and it does terrible things to vintage muscle cars.

thanks for setting it straight, suspension joints are no place to cheap out. I never planned on using cheap parts, I just thought maybe those classic kits used moog parts. you get what you pay for!!

You're talking about a whole OTHER breed of parts. You're talking about all the junk that's been excreted into the "pro-touring" market. That's the junk that's sold on the hope (prayer) that it never makes it on to the track.
