AS9100 Audit

For those of you who know what it is and can appreciate it.

Today is the last day of my AS9100 and ISO9001-2000 audit, I have been working on this for around a year and it looks like we will pass with flying colors, what this will do is open the doors for lots of new customers and aerospace contracts, in todays economy it couldnt of happened at a better time.

My employer is AS9100 approved. I didn't have to deal with much of it myself, but my boss is the Director of Quality - he lives and breathes that stuff!

Congratulations and I hope you didn't make it too hard on yoursellves. The best acheivment I made after we were certified at the wire plant was to reduce/revise my documents for a monthly inspection down to 1 piece of paper from 35 pieces and still have all of the same info on it.
When done properly you can just check off the boxes in columns with comments at the bottom of the page and additional pages if needed,then sign and date instead of having to write all over a whole stack of pages when everything is in the prescribed working order.
You don't have to kill a tree per month to comply with the standards.

We've had to do all of them, and some of the reqirements are just plain silly. But, it's what you have to do to play in most of the high-level industries.

Thanks guys, we actually passed with a perfect score, I thought we would have a few nonconformances but we aced it.
I have a great team here and I think we are going to celebrate today!

I hate these audits. We've been AS9100 here where I work for a little over a year. Before that, we were and still are ISO9000-2000 approved.
