If it were finished 20+ years ago, it might have been period correct.

Eek!

Paint jail here we come.

Why no paint? I understand 20 years to spend $210,000. But still no paint?

sadly, I would like to buy the Lingenfelter engine for $4-5K, that is most likely 80% of the value of the car.

Must have been a Star Wars or spaceman fan........

Totally futuristic!!!! Its like I've snuck into NASA and seeing all their new technology in one RAD corvette! :headbang:

The wheels are cool, and I would rock them even with Laser Tag logo.

The name Lazer F/X is a combination of the words "laser", which represents the cutting edge of technology, and the movie title "FX", which represents special effects put together they form the car's name and theme: Lazer F/X!

Well, at least he cleared that up for us.

On the plus side, if anyone ever had any doubts as to the value of a forum like this, ESPECIALLY the build threads, they should be gone now, as I'd hope that the folks on this board would gently dissuade a fellow forum member after seeing the first rendering, and definitely before $200k had been spent. Friends don't let friends (or even random fellow forum members) do this.

But you've got to give him props for the underhood mural featuring the Chevy Bowtie, the car name, AND a robot with a light saber.

Holy 80s fiberglass Batman!!! I love the description of the rear "seamless scoops" that miss touching the body by about an inch and the stylish, aggressive hood scoop that isn't very flush.

I'm sick now.
Sorry to see a good car go to waste.
It's a shame he couldn't get it finished while it was still in style.
Maybe he can re-coup some of his money.
That car is probably crying like Herbie the LoveBug.
It wants a new start.

jvike
12-10-2008, 01:33 PM
OK, this car would probably be all the rage in '85... Got to love those rear scoops that does NOTHING!

Clearly this guy has watched too many Knight Rider episodes..

It's just so sad when people do good work but they just lack the taste.... same issue we discussed a while ago with the Pro Street pickup on ebay.

I like the movie with it! The music is a nice touch! LOL!
Really, the car ain't that bad, very nice work overall. Would be a killer car for about $8000 or so..............
But if it is going to stay looking like that, it better have a Lingenfelter motor!......but it freaking better be a twin turbo'd one wtih plenty of BALL to offset the lack of taste, not that N/A thing!! Weren't those seats on Battlestar Galatica???!?

Actually, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the pics was that movie called Heavy Metal......Remember that one? LOL!

The name Lazer F/X is a combination of the words "laser", which represents the cutting edge of technology, and the movie title "FX", which represents special effects put together they form the car's name and theme: Lazer F/X!

The updated explanation is: Lazer is a combination of Lame and Tazer, Lame is what the car is and a Tazer is what the guy who thought up this eyesore should be hit with. Too bad he spent so much time and money to never see it completed. I hope someone makes something worthwhile out of this poor car.

If he's put $250k into this car there must have about 175k in the glove box.

That mural needs to be on the side of a van.

If he finished it back in the 90's that would've been a home run at the Street Machine Nats.

I didn't think it was so bad until I got to the "Artist rendering, but here's what it looks like now" part. Asking price aside, lose a few scoops, toss the bling electronics, the throbbing vein-textured seats and the homoerotic art then it isn't that bad, is it?
