Looking for some input on this. 18x10.5 with 305/40/18, 19x11 with 305/30/19 or 315/40/19. Or cut 1 1/2" out of my frame rail and squeeze in a 19x12 with 325/3019 or 345/30/19. What would do you guys think would look or handle best? The car is silver now but will probably end up in black primer until I finish bodywork and can afford paint.

Love those rims. I tried 19/11 in my 1970 and was to tight. Please use you do the frame deal let us kwon because I would do it.

About the tight as you can go is a 305 on a 18x10.5" rim. Thats what I'm running. I massaged my fender lip a bit with a grinder, but not really that much.

Thanks for the response. I rolled my fender lip allready and I plan on sitting pretty low so I need to be careful with my wheel size. I have the frame off of the car so it would be easy to cut the frame but I allready powder coated it so obviously I would have to repaint that section. I would also have to move the inner fender as well so it seems like alot of work for 1.5" but just like the rest of you I want to go as big as I can and have people wonder how I fit a tire that big.

hahah I hear ya. Nitro rocket fit a 315 in his when he owned the car. It was 71 twin turbo ls1 Chevelle.

Well I think I will go with the 18x10.5 and use a 305/40 since it will have more sidewall on a big car. So do you guys think I shoulder stagger the fron and use 17's or go 18's all around.
You can fit 10s in any diameter within reason as the section width doesn't change and even the overall diameter doesn't change much. The 18s and 19s or 19s and 20s look great on an A-Body but to fit the maximum tire, you have to make the wheel for the car, not mail order a modern offset for the wrong car. The C6 wheels won't work on your Chevelle without widening the rearend or using huge spacers because the mounting surface is not where it needs to be to fit a Chevelle.
If you run 18s, you don't need to stagger the diameters since an 18 will turn in a Chevelle wheelwell and will look like a 14 compared to the 18 in back.
Check out the 19x8s and 20x10s we put on this stock Chevelle. Your car has even bigger wheelwells than that and can hold more tire IF the wheel is built for your car.
