So I was thinking how cool it would be to have a "Pro-Touring.Com Calendar" with cars that have been build on the site. I figured there would be a bunch of guys that would be interested, I know I would buy one. Just some cars I would love to be, off the top of my head

Bad Penny
Motiv8r
Empty Nest
Prodigy
Notorious
TJ's challenger when its done
Marty's truck when its done
Tys firebird when its done
Andrews GTO
Payback
Fesler 1970 Nova
Ridetech 68 camaro
One Lap Camaro
II much
some of charley/steilows stuff
and definately some fords and mroe mopar

I just thought it would be cool to have some hardcore pt cars in a calendar...any way we could get this in the PT store Larry?

It's funny,

I was just thinking today that I told Larry last year that I would put a calendar together for P-T.com this year.

Hmmmm.

Oh this is strange. I replied to this post last night and now it's missing.

I have been wanting to do this for years. I think after the holidays I will dive into this. Great list of cars by the way.

I think this would be great. We can mix some of the high dollar cars with some of us average joe cars.

Young Gun

It could be something cool where some of the shops that build the really high dollar builds have half the months, but then you have the regular car guys for the others...it could be like the cars finished the year before....

I also forgot, a few cars

Fuel
Track Rat (when done)
Muttstang - the budget fastback
Jeff Hansons Tech 9 camaro
3g vette
mali2de
steeve keefers 70 mustang

I know I forgot some but those are just a few Id like so see in a calendar

get in touch with Tony and find out what they went through for the ls1tech calender. I like this idea though. Count me in for one and make it a mix of home built and shop built please.

I like the idea and want one for sure.

It would be even better if it was at least a 16 month calender or a 24 month calender. So many good cars to leave out in just 12 months and then it gives plenty of time to do the next one.

The choices are...........just do it:woot:

I started working on this last night. I hope to have some news soon.

What do you guys think about a sponsor logo on each page? Perhaps something like here is a car and here is a company logo on the page maybe in the corner. That might help us offset some of the cost?

I have been trying to figure out how to do that. That is not going to be easy to compile and to get good pictures of all the winners. But, it would be cool.

Just some ideas:
Cars have to be owned by the member submitting the car.
Time frame for members to volunteer.
Submit best 3 photos of your car for voting.(Thread only contains volunteers and photos) Not wow this or I like that posts.
Members that enter voting must pre pay for a calendar.

Or you could just pick:1st:

I can see the problem of trying to use cars like my Mustang or TJ's Challenger that aren't done.I don't think everyone shares my love of the build pictures{that could be a calender in itself}.There is way too many shiny cars that are done.Don't get me wrong I'd love to see my car in a P.T. calender, but I can see the delema that Larry would have. Larry, at NastyZ we let the paid members vote, so that is a decent population. Matt (Lammy) goes through the entries and eliminates the pics that won't work (too small, car will crop out, whatever), then he posts the contenders with a multi-select vote. You can pick all of them, 17 of them, or just one. Top 12 win.

Larry Callahan
03-10-2009, 11:29 AM
That sounds like a decent idea. I am having some MotiV8r calenders made and hope to have them next week. If the quality is good we are a go.

If anyone wants a MotiV8r version or a coffee cup or clock visit my cafe press store.

For now the prices are my cost with zero markup. Before the end of the year we will have official site version for 2010.

One idea was we could have a thread where members of P-T can post up their single best picture of their car (including a minimum resolution). Then in another thread start a poll, and have P-T vote on which 12 make the cut. Everyone would get 1 vote to vote for their favorite picture. Top 12 make the 2010 calender.

Once the 12 are selected, include P-T User Name, Real Name, Car Year & Model, Car Name, and Location in the calender, for each picture.

For instance, if your picture made the cut, this is the info that'd be included.

Larry Callahan
1968 Camaro - "MotiV8r"
Thousand Oaks, CA

Or if I made it,

LateNight72
Todd Sickles
1972 Chevelle - "Late Night"
Fairhope, AL

Anyhow, just a thought. If you'd want any more info/specifics or want me to help organize the vote, etc. I'd be more than willing...
