I have shorty headers that sit almost exactly on top of the spark plugs with little room to spare and was wondering what are some good ignition wires that won't catch or roast after the car warms up?

I have a LB9 305 tpi with edelbrock TES shorts. I know they are ceramic coated but can still get pretty hot.

You might try some boot guard protectors:

MSD Pro-Boot guards

Or

Moroso Insulated wire sleeves

I had a set of new wires drop into the headers due to crappy retainers, so I got the MSD part to help prevent future problems (and changed wire retainers). They seem take heat good and insulate the boots pretty well. And they look pretty nice when installed:

thanks a bunch guys. Lucky for me, I haven't got it all hooked up so I couldn't burn anything just yet. But when I was putting in the spark plugs I realized how hard it was to get them in there and saw how close they were going to be. I will try 90's with socks and see how that works out.
